Hi, my website and wordpress users use the Classic Editor plugin (Classic Editor version 1.5) to post and edit content. We do not use the Gutenberg Editor.

When I updated from Jetpack 7.8 to Jetpack 7.9 this week, some of our users (ones who use PCs and Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge) began having a floating footer in the Classic Visual/Text Editor area where they write text and add photos. The footer that floats up from the bottom into the space reads: “Thank you for creating with WordPress” and also “Get Version 5.3.” This floating footer problem does NOT happen for mac users who use Safari and Firefox.

My best guess is that JetPack 7.9 is having a conflict with Classic Editor plugin version 1.5.

My website is running WordPress 5.2.4 and PHP 7.3.8

Please advise on a fix for this. Temporarily, I think I’d like to go back to using Jetpack 7.8, which did not have this issue. Thanks!

James and Kokkie, good news. After Kokkie told me that an error was fixed between 7.9 and 7.9.1, I decided to upgrade. And presto, that resolved the “Floating footer in WP Classic Editor after upgrade to Jetpack 7.9” glitch.

My PC users who use Chrome and Microsoft Edge when using WordPress are no longer getting a floating footer, and they are no longer seeing the “undefined index” options-general.php error message.

    Thanks guys!
