• Dear All,

I am planning to create a global freight forwarding website with flights and ships’ connections.
Would you please advise what is the appropriate “plugin” or “template” to use?

I am just a beginner and doesn’t have a lot experience on WP.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

    Jean

  • Where are you getting your shipping data from? That’s where you need to look. Without knowing what the data will be there’s no way to say what will work with it. The best thing to do is ask the company/companies that are providing you with that data what they would suggest to use with it a sthey should know what will and won’t work with their own systems.

Thank you for your reaction and answer. I already have my own data.
I am looking about something a bit static, similar to the metro schedule of timetable… just like if you want to travel from A to B, it gives you what metro’s line(s) to take (in the case of the metro or train).

    Thank you

    Again…

Without knowing what the data will be there’s no way to say what will work with it.

I understand what you want to do, but it’s not a simple thing to do. Even working with your own data you still need a way to figure out how long a trip between two points will take, and then figure out the shortest route for a journey that could be any number of points.

Thats the problem that you’ll face with any theme or plugin out there. They don’t know what your data looks like, how it is stored, or how each record relates to each other. I’d love ot be able to say that it’s easy, and you can just install **PLUGIN** and it will all work, but the reality is that it doesn’t work that way.

This is a time where you’re going to need to either start learning how ot use WordPress and PHP so you can do this yourself, or pay someone else to do it for you. Personally I’d suggest the learning yourself part as you’ll know a lot more when you get it all done.
