    Hi Sayontan:

New user, I installed and activated the plugin, went through the generic and Flickr settings and when I clicked on authentication>Flickr>login and get access token, I get the message on the Flickr page, “Oops, there’s is no oauth_token parameter”. Please advise.

The only way this would happen is if you have a security plugin that is stripping out parameters from URLs in the back-end, or if your hosting provider is doing something similar.

Try disabling all your plugins and retry this step. If that doesn’t work, this would be a problem with your host’s settings, in which case you will need to retry this on a localhost type of an installation.

    Hi Sanyontan:

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve done as you suggested even deactivating Akismet, but to no avail. Anything else you think I should try? Not sure what you mean by localhost installation. Using Godaddy as a host.
    Thanks again.

If deactivating the plugin did not help, the issue is with your hosting configuration and GoDaddy will have to help.

Basically what happens when you click “Login and get Access Token” is that Photonic performs the action of logging in and that returns a URL of the format https://www.flickr.com/services/oauth/authorize?oauth_token=xxxxxxx&perms=read and you are redirected to that URL. Now, some hosting configurations disable the part of the URL after the ?, and that will cause this error. When this happens, they will have to help you out with inputs on what is going out from your server.

That being said, what are you using authentication for? Most Flickr users that I am aware of don’t require authentication to display photos.

Problem solved. My fault. So I went back over all the instructions because it seemed highly unlikely that I was the only one of your users on Godaddy. It turns out I was using the API for another Flickr app I created. I tried it again with the new API and it worked flawlessly.
    Thanks for your help!
    Alejandro
