I used Layout: Container to create a couple elements on my landing page. When I updated to the newest Elementor release (3.16.2) the Flexbox Containers and content completely disappeared from the page. I figured out the updated Elementor defaults the Flexbox Container to Inactive, so I’m assuming that’s why. I actually had no idea I had the Flexbox Container option selected in Elementor. — it took me some serious investigating to figure out what happened. It wouldn’t be a huge deal if I could figure out how to add an <a> link to a regular Section, but I don’t see that as an option like a Container, so I’m really hoping I can figure out a way to get them back without having to recreate everything. Not only that, but I’m afraid the next time I update Elementor they’ll disappear again and I’ll be back to square one. Any ideas on how to remedy this?

  • I think this is exactly what happened to me (i wrote an issue right below your). Yeah the new container was mandatory i think from the 3.16, then, as you, i updated all my section with this new Container style. After that i updated to 3.16.2 and the mandatory option have been removed, so all my Container flexbox disapperead. I had to copy from my staging all the section that i had previously changed. From now i think i will be with this 3.16.2 and wait a bit before update again.

And thanks to you i discovered that this new feature of Flexbox was an editable option from the settings

Sorry you experienced this too. I ended up deciding to disable the Flexbox Container feature. I’m back to using the normal Sections/Columns now and added an Elementor Addon plugin that allows me to link them. Works exactly the same as before, it just took time to rebuild it. I will no longer be using the Elementor Features/Experiments. Lesson learned.

    Hi!

I’ m having the same problem. Could you possibly share the plugin you mentioned that helps you combine both?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @graphicvision1,

    Thank you for contacting us.

The reason you are not able to see the Section/Column feature is because of the Flexbox Container activated.

If you want to use the Section/column feature instead of Container, you can disable it by going to Elementor->Settings->Features and change the status of ‘Flexbox Container’ to ‘disable’.

Please note that any content created using Containers will disappear the pages as well.

Try and let us know if this helps.

    Best Regards.
