    Hi there,

I’m currently building a new website using Elementor’s new Flexbox system, and I’d like to transfer content to another website that was built with the old grid system. My question is: Will the content display correctly on the older website, or is it possible that it won’t show up at all?

Additionally, if I enable Flexbox support on the older website, is there a risk that the existing grid-based content will break or encounter other issues?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi there,

    Thank you for contacting us.

When transferring content from a website built with Elementor’s new Flexbox system to another website that uses the old grid system, you may encounter display issues. Here are the key points to consider:Compatibility Issues:

    1. CSS Differences: The Flexbox system and the old grid system use different CSS properties for layout. Content designed with Flexbox may not align correctly or display as intended in the older grid system.
    2. Elementor Widgets: Some Elementor widgets and features might be specifically optimized for Flexbox, causing potential issues when viewed on a grid-based system.

Enabling Flexbox on the Older Website:

    1. Backward Compatibility: Enabling Flexbox support on the older website should, in theory, allow you to use the new layout features without disrupting the existing grid-based content. Elementor has designed Flexbox to be compatible and to coexist with the grid system.
    2. Testing and Verification: Despite the compatibility claims, it’s essential to thoroughly test your website after enabling Flexbox. Check different pages and layouts to ensure that the existing grid-based content is not adversely affected.
    3. Fallback and Browser Support: Ensure that your website functions well across different browsers. Flexbox is widely supported, but older browsers might not render Flexbox content correctly.

    Recommendations:

    1. Backup Your Website: Before making any changes, backup your current website. This will allow you to restore it in case something goes wrong.
    2. Staging Environment: Test the changes in a staging environment first. This will help you identify and fix any issues without affecting the live site.
    3. Incremental Migration: If possible, migrate and test content incrementally. This can help isolate and resolve specific issues more efficiently.

In summary, content built with the Flexbox system might not display correctly on an older grid-based website without modifications. Enabling Flexbox support on the older website could potentially work without breaking existing content, but thorough testing is crucial to ensure a smooth transition.

    Looking forward hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
