• Normally I transfer WP sites using WPEngine which automates the process. Imagine my shock when I had to do it on a pre-paid up client site. I was spoiled, and not looking forward to the arduous process. Long story short: All-in-One WP Migration moved a pretty complicated site with no hiccups. I didn’t have to use the search-and-replace db function.

It took a bit longer, but here are the precautions I took to ensure a smooth transition…

    • Installed latest version of WP before exporting.
    • Made a clean WP install on a new site, keeping the admin user and password the same and installed All-in-One WP Migration on that new site.
    • Exported the original site using All-in-One WP Migration.
    • Changed my nameserver address with my registrar to the new host
    • Waited till the next morning and verified the DNS had changed to the new host
    • Imported the site.
    • Updated the permalinks twice.

Everything on the new site worked perfectly!!!!!!
