I have a weird flashing type glitch on my website, which is affecting the user experience on my website. I have tried so many things already to fix this including removing plugins, updating active plugin’s, and removing pop up (including the shortcode) that were not working correctly but literally nothing has fixed it. My site is fully up to date and I am currently using the Storefront theme that is the only thing that I can think of that might be affecting the running operation of my site. So I am wondering is there currently an issue with the Storefront theme?

Any suggestions, ideas of things to try are greatly received.

    Thank You

  • Hi @officegems

I have checked your website and found the same.

I have also tried to reproduce the issue on my end using the Storefront theme, but I am not getting any flashing issue.

This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with another plugin.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:

    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Visit the website to check if the issue still persists

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Before you start

    • First, please make sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. Most hosting companies have this included in the subscription, but you could also consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site.
    • Second, I would suggest installing a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it allows you to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.
    • I hope that helps ??

Hi @nawaz0705 thank you so much for all of this information. That is one thing that I have not tried so I will try this next following your steps and keep my fingers crossed that I can figure out which plugin is causing the problem.

I was considering changing my theme altogether if I could not get it to work but will test all of this first. I have someone who hosts my website so all good on that front from a backup point of view and also already have Jet Pack installed.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi @officegems

We’ll wait for your response. It’s best to do a complete conflict test, just to make sure.

I do see a GDPR plugin running that may be causing the reloading at well. Do you have any popups that are supposed to trigger when a visitor lands on your site?

    Hi @nicw @nawaz0705

Thank you both for your help. I had already removed the pop up plug in. WordPress then emailed me to say the the PHP Checker plugin was causing me errors, so removed that as well, but there was a still a problem.

In the end I deactivated all plugins apart from Woocommerce and turns out that the WP Copyright plugin was the one that was causing me the problems. I have another copyright plugin installed so it could possibly be a conflict between the two.

The only thing that doesn’t make sense to me though is that both of those plugins I have had installed from the very beginning and never encountered a problem with either of them before, so I do not really understand.

But I am delighted everything is working again and that I know the cause of the problem to. Thank You very much for all your help. Happy Friday!

We’re glad that you have found the plugin that was causing the conflict and everything is working fine now!

It could be possible that these plugins were just working fine with any particular version and started causing conflict when you updated these plugins or any other plugin on your website. These are just possibilities that I am guessing.

    I hope this helps! ??
