• Hi,

I have been asked by my client to have some animated text and image transitions in the header of his site (I’ve done this for him before outside of wp no problem – I’m at an intermediate level with flash, xhtml and css).

    So 2 questions:

Can someone point me to a tutorial or document that explains how the above can be done in wp.

I’ve asked this question a couple of times but no one seems to want to get involved. Is that because flash and wp just isn’t a good idea – Should I just abandon the idea of using flash in wordpress?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Jo

  • You can certainly use Flash on a WordPress site. But I would avoid adding Flash content from the Page and Post editor, this can be a hassle without using a plugin.

You just need to edit the header template of theme to use a Flash file instead of a graphic, just like you would on a regular HTML page, but with a WordPress theme, it is modular. Check out Designing Headers, it would be a good start to editing your header.
