• Greetings, while tinkering with the pages of a newly installed theme, the site stopped working. I request help of the gurus in the forum to help.

The problem cropped up with the theme – medzone-lite. Given that the pages the theme automatically installs were deleted too as a result of desperation (!), now the site returns an error message when attempting to load.

Through the cpanel, I have renamed the folder medzone-lite to medzone-lite.old, and note that this folder has three subfolders: assets, inc, and template-parts. I had also installed another theme, which is untested.

I shall be grateful to be guided on this issue.

    Thanks much, in advance.

  • If you already using a new theme and still it has errors, I suspect it could be the plugins giving you the issues. Try to rename the plugin folder and see if your website can load. If yes, then it is some plugins causing the issue. Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Thank you for your message, @websprout – much appreciated.

I do not recall having installed any new plugin. However, I did delete a few files/folders within the pages in a bid to restore the functioning of the site; which must have crashed the site. How to get the site running up once again, given that I have access to the cpanel only, and nothing else?

Thanks again for sparing time to look into my issue.

    Hi,
First, have you tried going into your cpanel and rename the plugin folder name to something else (to deactivate all plugins) and see if your website works?

    Hi all, hi @websprout,

Today morning, when I opened the back-end of the site, I found it to be miraculously intact. The only damage, and a massive one at that, is the loss of data. That will have to be rebuilt. But the front end continues to be non-functional. I request your help in getting the front-end repaired, too. WP has on its own installed the Twenty Twenty theme. The site is: ylc.yidamweb.in.

    Thank you in advance.
