• I’ve just successfully moved my site from one url to another. All content there, and half the images. But I’ve lost more than half of my images.

When I use the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin it tells me “fail” image urls that are different than what I see on scrollover of the missing images.

When I look in regen thumbnails I see the images as missing at:

    /home/content/G/u/s/oldusername/html/newsiteurl/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/image_name.png

When I scroll over I see the images missing at:

    newsiteurl/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/image_name.png

I’m looking at several hundred missing images that are actually in the backend of the new hosting account in the correct spot. Any experts able to illuminate me on what to do? Would appreciate the help!

I tried doing a sql database query (how I made the other changes) but wasn’t able to alter those records.

  • I’m not positive I followed your question, but I found a plugin Add from Server that forces WP media library to recognize image files that have been moved to the folder. Saved me tons of time when I had something that sounds like this. Good luck.
