I’ve recently received a notification from Google Search Console that my site is affected by several Recipes structured data issues. Some key fields seem to be missing. Here’s a summary of the issues:

    Critical issues

    Missing field ‘recipeYield’

Google indicates that this critical issue prevents my recipe pages from appearing in search results.

    Non-critical issues

    Missing field ‘video’

    Missing field ‘recipeCategory’

    Missing field ‘aggregateRating’

    Missing field ‘recipeCuisine’

    Missing field ‘keywords’

While these non-critical issues don’t prevent indexing, they are flagged as areas for improvement and might impact my search visibility.

I’d like assistance on the following:

    1. How do I add the missing ‘recipeYield’ field to my recipes to resolve the critical issue?
    2. What is the best practice for including the non-critical fields (‘video’, ‘recipeCategory’, ‘aggregateRating’, ‘recipeCuisine’, and ‘keywords’) to improve structured data?
    3. Are there specific tools or plugins (I’m using [CMS/Platform Name], e.g., WordPress) that simplify adding and validating structured data?

Any guidance or resources for resolving these issues would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hello @aimcdoug81

    1. It seem like the reason why the recipeYield field is empty is maybe because you have not set a value for Servings in the recipes Nutrition information.

Try settings a value for the Servings and check the schema data using Googles tool here: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results/result/r%2Frecipes?id=uCBbBhauwKZNwciJHcyi7Q

      2. For settings some of the non critical fields that are supported you can do the following:

      • video – currently not supported, plans to support this in the future.
      • recipeCategory – can be set by selecting a recipe category when you edit the recipe.
      • aggregateRating – this is supported in the Cooked Pro plugin with the recipe ratings feature.
      • recipeCuisine – this is supported in the Cooked Pro plugin with the extended recipe taxonomies (e.g. cp_recipe_cuisine)
      • keywords – this is supported in the Cooked Pro plugin with the extended recipe taxonomies (e.g. cp_recipe_tags)
      • suitableForDiet – although you did not mention this, this is supported in the Cooked Pro plugin with the extended recipe taxonomies (e.g. cp_recipe_diet)

But as you can see from the link above to the Google Rich Results test, that the other fields except recipeYield are optional.
