• Love this plugin but something that drives me crazy is how tedious it is to fix readability issues. For example, when you press the “eye” icon to highlight all the sentences that are longer than 20 words, as soon as you edit 1 sentence, the highlighting disappears. So then you have to scroll back down and press the “eye” icon again to turn on the highlighting.

If you have 30 sentences to edit, that’s scrolling up and down 60 times and re-pressing the “eye” icon 30 times to toggle the highlight on again after each edit!!!! Why can’t the highlighting just stay on until I turn it off? Still waiting and waiting for an update that will fix this…

  • Hi @katerila,

    Thanks for your comment.

We’ve been able to reproduce this issue in the classic editor. When using the default WordPress block editor (aka Gutenberg) and the latest version of Yoast SEO v13.1, the problem doesn’t occur.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. Luckily, a so-called “bug report” (a description of the issue, so we can fix it) is filed already.

    What’s next?
Our product team will asses the severity of this problem in relation to other open bug reports and new features. Based on their assessment, the bug report will be given a priority. Our developers work on the highest priority issues first. Unfortunately, this means we cannot give you an estimate when they’ll start working on your report.

If you have any further information that may affect the prioritization or help our development team solve this bug, please leave a comment or subscribe to the GitHub report to get updates on the issue: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/11656
