Fixing image catalogue dimension

I’m looking on the web but I still can get how to have all the images resized correctly on my catalogue and inside the item description.

In the main page “Shop” I need the image not cropped, but that fill in the space. So that if the image is 500×500 or whatever, the image will resize itself, for example 150×150 (not cropped).
