Fixing comments posted with another username
-
I’d like to use the “pre-approve my own comments” hack delineated in Do I have to approve my own comments?. However, I have to admit that I’ve always posted as the registered user “Diane Vigil” … and ::cough:: commented with a nickname I’ve used everywhere (“DianeV”) which is *not* a registered user and has a different email address than “Diane Vigil”.
I know, I know. It seemed the easiest way at the time, but I’m now cognizant that WP sees these as two different users. It’s time to fix this by joining the two somehow. If possible.
So: is it possible to merge the two? Difficult, easy or not worth the trouble?
I realize that all I’d have to do to use the “pre-approve own comments” hack would be to register DianeV as a user and implement the hack. I’m just wondering, though, if I’m adding a problem on top of a problem. Not to mention that I’m also usually logged in as “Diane Vigil” … I’d hate to have to switch back and forth.
What are your thoughts on this and/or recommendations?
