fixed width column in Arclite

    I am using Arclite with a 2 column layout. I am using a semi-fluid layout, min-width=1000 and max-width=1600. I have the sidebar on the left.

    I would like to set a fixed width for the sidebar of say, 300px. I am having a heck of a time getting it to work. Help?
