Fixed Scrolling Issue

I have a problem with my theme. Whenever I scroll on a mobile device like on my blackberry phone or Playbook the image does not stay fixed. It scrolls with the page and then there is white space beneath it. Is there anyway to fix this?

The problem does not occur on desktop browsers to my knowledge.
