    Hi,

I’ve tried to fix redirects link to be direct links but after clicked “Fix Redirects”, it still show that link in the list.

But it shows message notification after click Fix redirects: “Replaced 2 redirects with direct links”

Could you please help to suggest how is fix redirects work?

    Thanks.

    Hi @prontotools

I hope you are doing good today.

Could you clear any site and server-side caches and see if this helps? Please let us know about the results.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

@prontotools I have archived your reply and flagged your account for moderation.

9 and a half hours ago you invited the whole Internet to log in as admin to your staging site. Gosh knows how that went.

If anyone accepted that offer they would be banned from this site. Please do not make that offer again, that is not allowed under any circumstances.

Had they asked for that (and they did not, that’s important) this would be the reply to them.

While I know you have the best of intentions, it’s forum policy that you not ask users for admin or server access. Users on the forums aren’t your customers, they’re your open source collaborators, and requesting that kind of access can put you and them at high risk.

If they are paying customers (such as people who bought a premium service/product from you) then by all means, direct them to your official customer support system. But in all other cases, you need to help them here on the forums.

Thankfully are other ways to get information you need:

    You get the idea.

We know volunteer support is not easy, and this guideline can feel needlessly restrictive. It’s actually there to protect you as much as end users. Should their site be hacked or have any issues after you accessed it, you could be held legally liable for damages. In addition, it’s difficult for end users to know the difference between helpful developers and people with malicious intentions. Because of that, we rely on plugin developers and long-standing volunteers (like you) to help us and uphold this particular guideline.

When you help users here and in public, you also help the next person with the same problem. They’ll be able to read the debugging and solution and educate themselves. That’s how we get the next generation of developers.

Thank you for making concern here. I’ve already removed the user from the site and also this I use the staging server to allow you to access.

Anyway I’ve already tried to do these steps as from your suggestion:

    – Activate Health Check plugin to troubleshoot the issue
    – After use Troubleshoot mode, it’s already deactivate other plugins and themes. Just left only Broken Link Checker and Twenty Twenty One
    – Run the broken link checker
    – Choose 2 links for fix redirects and use bulk action to apply them
    – After applied, there’s message notification: “Replaced 1 redirect with a direct link” but the 2 redirect links still not solved and not gone from the redirection list.

Anything you could think of the possibility to have this issue?

    Thanks!

    Hi @prontotools

Sorry to hear you still have this issue.

I checked our reported issues and found a similar problem, the steps to replicate this issue are:

a link with redirect is detected

and reported in both “All” and “redirects” lists of links

if you then fix redirect the link still stays in “redirects” page even despite giving “200 OK” status

it only goes away from there after hard-refreshing and/or revisiting the page

Can you confirm if in your case it also goes away after a hard refresh on the page?

    Best Regards

    Hi Patrick,

After fix redirect on the link, the status still show 301 status code. And also hard refresh and clear cache as well.

I’ve recorded the video how I did for fix redirects, please see here: https://www.loom.com/share/30ced4dfef08497d8a7859f2472f1046

Here’s the post link that I’ve tried to fix link text “cloud services”. This link should be direct link, it should not redirect to anywhere.

Could you please help to investigate again?

    Thank you!

    Hi @prontotools

Do you have objecting caching on your hosting?

If so, can you clear it and then go to WordPress > Settings > Link Checker > Advanced and force a re-check.

I tried to replicate the issue on my end but I noticed on two different sites that the plugin will get the final URL status, in your case it is getting 301.

This is an example the /contact was redirecting to /form

If the issue persists, please run a full plugin conflict test following this workflow: https://wpmudev.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Support-Process-Support-Process.gif

Let us know the result you got.
