I’ve moved from http to https/ssl, and set up an .htaccess 301 redirect to get my visitors on https. Almost all my internal links still refer to my http-url (thanks, WordPress, for making those absolute!). So I have a long list of redirects in Broken Link Checker.

I thought I’d fix that by using Fix Redirects. But that function does nothing at all. If I select x redirects BLC has listed, select the Fix Redirects bulk action, and click Apply, BLC seems to go to work, and does report x redirects fixed, but nothing changes in the redirected urls, and they’re still listed as redirected.

Is this a bug, or am I misunderstanding what Fix Redirects does?

You can better use a plugin to change the url in the database.

Ah! I had Search & Replace, which refused to s&r my home URL. Better S&R does do my bidding.

Nevertheless, I think a Fix Redirects function should actually, you know, fix redirects, especially since the 301 info BLC collected is correct, so it has the necessary data available.
