fix login after break

  • Everything worked fine until I installed plugin “Custom Page Login Customizer”, then the following error message produced every time I tried to log in
    “ Error 406 – Not Acceptable
    Generally a 406 error is caused because a request has been blocked by Mod Security. If you believe that your request has been blocked by mistake please contact the web site owner.”

    I then removed the plugin and tried logging in but now it produced a 404 error. How to I fix my login?

    Hello,

    Did you get your issue solved? If not, could you try to disable other plugins as well and see if those might be causing the issue?

    This issue has not been resolved. I have read many posts, most referring to a .htaccess file, which my wp site did not have. I created on but no luck.’
    The very first step I did was to disable all plugins related to login, essentially trying to return it to its basic form. I had no luck with this method.
    As of right now, I do not know what to do aside from recreated the website for scratch.
