I just spent a few hours troubleshooting the email sending through wpp_mail for a custom script, on a dev site where I installed Post SMTP for email logging. I was thinking I’m making some coding mistakes.

Disabling the plugin finally solved my problem, and then I noticed that the test email sent by the plugin had the same formatting errors. Getting here in the forum, I found similar problems and the solution mentioned here: https://postmansmtp.com/fix-for-broken-emails/ This also worked for me.

My question is now regarding some other live WP sites where I installed this plugin. What combination of PHP version and other environment variables makes POST SMTP to misbehave? Is this documented anywhere?

    Hi @mihaipmp,

I hope you are doing good.

Thank you for contacting us. You can face broken email issues specifically in PHP version 8.x.x. You can check the issue by sending the test email if you find your email broken then you can enable it.

    Thanks and regards,
