As per @amboutwe ‘s instructions, I’d like to document a similar issue I’m facing.

    This is the message I received from Google;

“Google systems show that your site is affected by 0 instances of Breadcrumbs markup issues. This means that your Breadcrumbs pages might not appear as rich results in Google Search.

Search Console has created a new report just for this rich result type. The new report enables you to identify, fix, and resubmit affected pages to Google so they can start appearing in Search Results with rich result features.”

35 issues were detected in my Search Console. And yes, my website has Yoast’s breadcrumbs enabled.

    Thanks.

Thank you for creating a new topic. Very odd that Google says 0 instances but then detects 35 issues.

    Please provide the following:

    1. Specific errors/warnings that show in Google Search Console > Breadcrumbs
    2. A few example URLs (click on the error/warning row to see examples)*
    3. The Yoast SEO version you are using**.

    * If you prefer to not provide URLs, please use Google’s structure data testing tool to check the structured data output of an example URL. Ideally, you should only have one structured data section detected but some themes and plugins add sections so make sure that the Breadcrumb output with the error is contained within the section that Yoast outputs.

** Please make sure you are using a recent version (12.0 or newer) of Yoast SEO as we’ve made many schema updates in recent versions.

    hi @amboutwe .

    ? I’m using Yoast Version 12.1.

? This is a snapshot of the 35 breadcrumb errors: https://i.imgur.com/ipWMs6y.png

    ? A few URLs from the structure testing tool: 1, 2, 3

Please let me know if you require any further information.

    Thanks.

@magicbus Thank you for the example links as they provide the perfect information to help you.

The Yoast breadcrumb structure is included under the ‘CollectionPage’ or ‘Article’ section (depending on the example provided) and has no errors.

The ‘BreadcrumbList’ section is added within the content area which is added by your theme or another plugin. This section is missing an ID which is likely causing the errors in Google Search Console.

Please report the issue to the theme or plugin that adds the additional ‘BreadcrumbList’ section to either find out how to disable their schema (as Yoast SEO is outputting valid ‘BreadcrumbList’ within the main section) or to correct their schema output.

If you are unsure what plugin or theme feature outputs the second breadcrumb data, the fastest way to determine this is to?deactivate all plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?Then activate your preferred theme (it’s the most likley to add breadcrumbs) and see if the breadcrumbs appear on the page above the content. If not, activate one plugin at a time until the breadcrumbs appear.

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Hi @amboutwe

Thank you very much for your advice. I think the issue is probably connected to the theme. I switched to Twenty Nineteen as you advised, and ran tests on Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool – no errors were detected.

I’ve opened a support thread on my theme creator’s sub.

    Thank you again!
