Fitting the header picture into the top part of twenty twelve theme

Any thoughts anyone? I’ve searched bunch of the forums, tried some of the suggested solutions and none of them seemed to work.

First you need to create a valid child theme – your style.css file should have only your changes in it after the top section like this:

Theme Name:     Twenty Twelve Child
Theme URI:      https://example.com/
Description:    Child theme for the Twenty Twelve theme
Author:         Your name here
Author URI:     https://example.com/about/
Template:       twentytwelve
Version:        0.1.0
*/

@import url("../twentytwelve/style.css");

I just did that and pasted all the changes that I initially had.
There’s code in there that’s supposed to fix the header width problem, but it doesn’t seem to work

Really? That’s not what’s visible on your site?
I don’t see the @import line and I do see the entire parent theme stylesheet copied.

Actually, it worked! the whole website changed just due to me doing this with the file.

It should be there. It changed things considerably.
Some of the changes I’d made previously are gone, probably in the old file..

I am doing this website for someone else, so I notified them to let the hosting company know. I’ve been working on just the wp part of things, so I changed the WP login settings and will look over it all, I appreciate you pointing this out WPyogi!
I guess we can get back to the original topic once this is cleared. I am curious what prompted you to check this security thing? Anything on the website?

There was base64 code visible in the CSS file (the one visible on the site when I first looked at it).

Do you remember what exactly it was? (I still have the file on my desktop) I’m just wanting to make sure I know what code I might have added to create this. If I did.. Or could it have been random? I just recently started working on this project.
