Fit the sidebar next to main content – custom theme
-
Hi all,
This is the first problem I have come across that I can’t seem to resolve. Could someone please help me out?
I am familiar with HTML and CSS, but not a clue about best standards or anything like that. I just mess around with code and if it looks right, that’s OK.
I started with the standard WP theme and customised it myself. Please see here:
https://www.lemonyweasel.co.uk
The sidebar is now an include in header.php (so that it would show on every page) and acts more like a footer because it is the counterpart to the logo/menu on the left-hand side.
The thing I want to fix:
when you resize the browser the fixed sidebar goes behind the main content, and the main content doesn’t resize until the browser scrollbar/edge pushes it.
I would essentially like the sidebar to be identical to the logo/menu/header strip and when the browser is resized I would like the main content in the middle to be the thing to be squashed down.
Sorry for this being very disjointed. If you need me to explain anything in more detail, please let me know.
Thanks
