  • Hello everyone, and look forward to visiting people’s sites ??

    Little short story about my site. Back in 1996 to 2001 I owned a domain name dude-suit.net which I hosted myself out of my old studio apartment. Back when domains were $75/year from Network Solutions. From 1996 to 1999 I was hosting it on a Slackware Linux box on 2 128k ISDN lines bonded. Anyhow things change, times change, job changes, and end of 2001 I had moved and let my domain slip and the rest is history.

    I had a blog on blogger for past 4 years, but I recently thought ‘I wonder if my old domain was available’ and to my surprise it was.

    So I thought I’d start anew instead of moving my old blog over. Installed WordPress on a co-located server I own. My short story is turning long so I’ll just say I am disabled and at home most the time, so my blog is more of an eclectic mix of posts, from cool links I find around the net, to some of my favorite music, the odd or strange news stories I may discuss, it’s sorta a catch all while I try to stick to 3 main areas, news type discussion, music, cool links.

    the domain dude-suit.net back in 1996 was first thought up when I was in college and there was a formal function I had to go to and the suit I borrowed from a roommate was tad short on me, me being 6’3″. A friend said I looked like a “gorilla in a dude suit” so it sorta stuck with me so when I decided to purchase a domain I liked the idea of dude-suit.net ??

    Anyhow would love to hear any advice, criticism, or whatever you may think.

    edit to add: had a 3 hour dns outage couple days ago but all is fixed ??

  • The site looks good.

    I’m not a fan of black backgrounds and white text, that’s my only gripe.

    Plugin seems to be causing these errors:

    strange I never saw that error, I disabled that plugin for now though. No idea if others were seeing that also. I had tested on my ipod/laptop. but yea that is a plugin I use.

    ah well, deactivated it, thanks for posting that for me!

    and yea I’m a fan of dark sites or dark backgrounds, I guess for me it’s easier to read but I can understand its easier or harder for others.

    I may change theme in future though im still looking for a great one ??

    if anyone has a advice on a theme let me know, I like dark themes not exactly black, but dark grey’s, i see them as “quieter” than loud/white/colorful sites
