First & Last name not saving

I was just having the same issues, but fixed it by

1) de-activating and re-activating all plugins
2) removing and then re-adding the first + last name fields.

I suspect the second step here is what fixed it.

The only thing added was the help info, as we have a username requirement that “should match” the first name last name.

I did delete and re-add them as the above poster suggested, but have not yet tested a new user.

Just to confirm, I tested new user and F & L are empty in WP and (as expected) the DB.

If you make it so the fields can be edited by the user and register does it save the fields to the user_meta table?

Bingo. Now it saves.

So, not sure how the rest of the world does it, but we don’t allow a change in F & L name after account creation (because it matches the username) for example Test User is test_user

Morning, has any thought been given on this? Is there a way to fix it so that it saves their information on registration, but we can prevent editing this info on account/profile?

You can disable first and last name from showing on account page from UM settings > account > Add a First & Last Name fields

Hi, I have the same problem as grungyape. It saves data when I set the field as a editable but I have a field that has to be uneditable. Is there any other way of solving this problem??
