• Howdy,

I’ve run through 2 Previous Themes: (WP-Drudge) and (EvoLve) using the same content. Yesterday I switched to the latest version of (PressWork). During that process, I’ve also tried 3 color schemes. My first theme was a 3-column static home page that showed up fine on Android and Apple smart phones. My second and most recent endeavors only display the blog items on those phone, with no Header Image or static links at all. I have installed the WP Touch plugin but wonder if I really want it. Can anybody please click and give some feedback on what you Do, or Do Not, like about my current website. Here’s the link: (Toolbox-4-Websites). Any advice or comments are welcome.

  • Honestly, the black and green are really abrasive. I get the look you are going for but I don’t think that theme pulls it off very well. It’s really hard to navigate the site because:

    1. The font is too big
    2. Too much black and green
    3. Try to write more content, most of your posts are only a single paragraph
    4. Too much scrolling. Try adding pagination to your blog so people don’t have to scroll for minutes to look for older posts.

    Hope this helps!

    m1ck3y,

Thank you for responding. I appreciate your recommendations. Can you recommend ?

    1. A font size for both the Header Title and the Posts text?
    2. Which color scheme would you recommend for a large, diverse, global
    viewership?
    3. Is long content necessary if my main goal is to provide the right
column’s list of categorized static links…..basically a resource
    list of web-building tools?
    4. If my main purpose of the blog posts are only to draw traffic, do
you think that there is a better theme format available that I can
use as a Child theme on this Framework (PressWork)?
    5. Can you give me a link to a WordPress Theme that you personally
admire, and at the same time would fit the usage of my static
    links?
    6. What are you opinions of my Header Image? What do you like, or
dislike about it? What would you change?

My Current goal is to design a website that attracts a large number of viewers. To do that, it has to be unique (in my opinion). Do you think
my site is focused well enough, or is it too broad-based? Please accept my apology for taking so long to respond to you comments, but I was working.

Can you show my current version Toolbox-4-Websites to someone else, and ask them what they would do?

I think the font size is too big. And it’ll be best if you sort your articles into categories.

Font is way too big. I don’t like the picture of the eyes? I really don’t like the black & green, just seems a bit like old school website pages before you could really edit colors. Try to make the website more visually attractive & easy to scroll through. Make it easy to search & find what the user is looking for.

I would have to agree with what the others have said. The green and black color scheme you have going on is very jarring to the eyes. For someone to spend time reading your website you want something that is not dark and almost brooding. You want a more neutral pleasing color scheme.

As well as the font being really big. The logo, to me, seems more like I am being watched then a logo that is showing off your website. I’m also not sure what the eyes have to do with “tools for website creation and commerce”

While you seem to have a lot of articles, or posts, on your page it seems that at first glance there is to much going on. You have about 30 seconds to capture the attention of a new visitor. In that time you want something that will draw them in and get their attention. With so much right there on the front page it’s hard to really know what a person wants.

Try and keep your site simple and easy to navigate. Once they have found what they are looking for they will stick around for the goods so to speak.

    m1ck3y, cmyatt1313, RichardWPG, and awakeninnerself,

Thank you all for your responses, and I apologize for taking so long to respond to some of you. My website is a ongoing hobby, and I’ve been away at work for a while. I’ve put thought in to each of your responses, and will incorporate some of them in the future.

My main focus right now is to restructure my categorized static link lists. Does anyone know a simple way to create Page Attributes based on created or imported page templates? How does WordPress allow me to import different template for different pages? Is it possible to Cut & Paste pieces of other Free WordPress Themes into separate pages in the Page Attributes sections of Add New Page?
