    Hi
    the first image in my gallery (consisting of 255images 1200x800pixels) takes around 5-6 seconds to load.

    Is there any way I can get it to load faster?

  • Hi, @deon-b!

    Thanks for writing in!

    Is this gallery all one on page? (I’m assuming so, since you’re writing in on the Envira Lite support page, but I want to make sure!) If so, that’s quite a lot of images to load in a single go. Honestly, your server may not be capable of doing that any quicker than it’s doing it now.

    If you’re using our paid versions and have access to the addon, our pagination feature could help in this regard. Same with the lazy-loading option.

    If you haven’t already, I’d recommend compressing your images losslessly. And if you run the gallery page through a service like GTmetrix, you may find other ways to improve your site’s performance and cut down on load-times, too.

    Hi,
    I am already using lazy loading in your plugin.

    When I run gtmetrix I get (among the others) these:

    – Avoid excessive dom size and reference to some envira elements:

    <div data-row-height=”” data-gallery-theme=”” id=”envira-gallery-515395″ class=”envira-gallery-public envira-gallery-4-columns envira-clear enviratope en…” data-envira-columns=”4″>
