First image loads slowly, white screen while user waits

    Everything is awesome except the first image in the series loads slowly. It seems like it’s applying the same wait time between slides before showing the first slide. Any way to make the first slide show up without a fade effect so that it loads immediately when the rest of the page does?

    It’s a bummer to have the whole site loaded and the background loads 3 seconds later.

    Please advise. Code tweaks are OK, I’m intermediate with PHP.

    Thanks for responding. It turns out that there was a broken link for my first image, which meant it was trying to load that image but showing blank for the duration of the it. It made it seem like it was taking a long time to load what I thought was the first image (but it was actually image 2).

    Strangely, I don’t think it continued to include the blank slide as it cycled through.
