• At first I very much appreciated the possibility to integrate Watson Assistant on my website for free and have some configuration options and even support for it.

However, it seems like in every new release they put in a new big bug when they tried to solve another (e.g. first the chat window opened full screen in any browser width and now it doesn’t in phone view where it is absolutely needed for good usage. They even limit font size at 9 so one cannot see much of the dialog flow now).

The worst part of all is that the plugin is completely instable since a couple of weeks already. That means, it randomly appears and disappears (most of the time just not displayed – especially at weekends(?)). And no support is answering to this issue. So what use does the plugin actually have then?

Thus, it got really annyoing and I am about to switch to competitors like google’s dialogflow.

    Thank you for the feedback.

We take our support very seriously and we aim to do better. The only way to deliver fixes though is by refreshing the version. When there is a critical error we aim to ship the new release as soon as the fix is ready. It sounds like we need to be able to develop fixes faster.

Please note that the IBM Watson Conversation services and the WordPress Watson conversation plugin are produced by different companies. I have used Watson for a couple of months (https://science-network.tv/ask-ronny/). I was initially frustrated by all problems and lack of support. After a while I realised that all my problems was related to IBM and the Watson conversation services. The Watson conversation services WordPress plugin is merely a tool to link in IBM’s Watson conversation services into a WordPress site. I have found the support for the plugin to be fast and superb but the support from IBM has often been slow (the first support ticket was answered after 5 months!) and not always accurate (they gave bad incorrect advice). In summary the plugin is in my opinion superb and any problems are usually related to the IBM service the plugin links to so think carefully before deciding who to blaim for the problems. In the end I found the time spend worthwhile but agree that it takes more than a few minutes before you have something that is useful.
