Let’s check to see if there’s something on your site that should not be. Install the plugin WordFence and have it do a full scan of your site.

If WordFence finds that the site is clean, then disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    Hello Team,

Let me explain here once again.

The problem is not with site. The site is running completely okay. I face this issue only when I logged in with my https://www.thisissanjeeva.com/wp-admin

    Otherwise all okay.

I have scanned the site with the plugin you suggested. two recommendation I found:

    1. The Plugin “Archivist – Custom Archive Templates” appears to be abandoned (updated January 2, 2018, tested to WP 4.9.18).
    Type: Plugin Abandoned
    2. The Plugin “SEO Ultimate” appears to be abandoned (updated November 3, 2016, tested to WP 4.6.21).
    Type: Plugin Abandoned

However, these plugins were with my site since beginning almost. However, I am facing the problem only from last almost an year.

From last one year I had added only one plugin from magenet (https://cp.magenet.com/). I have removed this plugin already.

Hope this explains. Let me know if further info is required.

    Regards,
    Sanjeeva

Because we cannot see your site as a logged in user, it would be helpful if you posted a screen shot. (Put it on imgur.com and provide a link to the image.)

PFA the link. This shows how my mouse is turn into clickable in the simple plane interface where nothing is clickable i.e. no text no image etc.

When click, it will open a new window of advertisement page. First image shows how clickable it is and the second image shows what pages it opens.

    WP-Admin hacked.

What happens if you open it in incognito mode, so no browser extensions are loaded?

    The behavior is same.

    Let’s assume you’ve been hacked.

Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

    Hello @sterndata ,

Just to update I have tried many times in past for malware scanning and it always comes up with clean record.

Even after your suggestion, I have tried both online and external scanning and everything comes clean. Not sure where to look into.

Please have a look at 2nd, 3rd and 4th image.

I am re-iterating. This is not a problem with my site. This problem is only with the WP-ADMIN dashboard.

Let me know if anything can be done here?

    >> This problem is only with the WP-ADMIN dashboard. <<

Your dashboard is part of your site. Have you actually disabled *all* plugins and changed the theme to twentytwenty?

    Thread Starter thisissanjeeva

    (@thisissanjeeva)

@sterndata Currently all plugin is disabled. Still it is happening. I can not change theme as there are lot of customizations with current theme I have made. And also I have uninstalled the default theme.

Other than this, I have done all steps. No malware found, no virus found, no scanner either online or offline found anything. No plugin is creating the problem.

One more point I would like to highlight here, once clicked and ad page open it allow me to click normally. after some time (and there are not fixed pattern of this “some time” extend from a few seconds to few minutes.) it repeat the behavior once again

I really need help from this forum to fix this. I will be migrating my hosting in next 4-5 days to some other hosting vender and really don’t want to take this thing into new hosting location.

I appreciate all your effort. please help /guide me fix this.

    Thank you.

If you inspect the wp-admin page with your brower’s dev tools, can you see what elements might be adding the link as an overlay to the page? There might be a clue there.

Since I am not that much technical to understand much code, would you please provide some keyword for search to get more insight/clue for this?

    Thanks,
