First class mail not showing

I was given a link to download the 4.4.10. It’s part of my WooCommerce subscriptions, but I don’t a newer release available yet for my subscription.

@realpetchicken you may be using an outdated version. Also, everyone should check their PHP versions too. I just thought of that. If you are running on 5.2 that might not be helpful.

@kcellis I help Woo from time to time and so I know the team and consult often. I was given the file awhile back to review. Make sure you’re going thru each product and that weights and dims are chosen for each one. That’s the only way Recommend works.

Here are my settings just in case. But also realize each product has dims and weights on their own individual pages.

I can now say that as of late afternoon yesterday ours reverted back to only showing Priority. Can you say creepy? I had to revert back to First Class Large Envelope to have it appear. So strange. Time to move to Shopify.

Just got word to switch to Commercial rates and then add additional fees to compensate you enough to cover S/H and whatever else you need. Being told that with the new USPS API it will only cover Commercial Rates and not Retail.

I had the same problem. I am using Woocommerce USPS Shipping Plugin. I had to update the plugin to ver 4.1.10. For some reason the plugin never showed that a new update was available.

Any recommendation on how much additional fees to add to cover the difference between commercial and retail rates? Also, any update on when this will be fixed or any other workarounds? Thanks..

If you use the USPS shipping plugin choose Commercial Rates not Retail in order to see the 1st Class option on the check out page. I have Woocommerce USPS shipping version 4.4.10 and it works on my site. I recommend figuring out how much it costs for boxes, packing material, labels and any other components used for shipping your product and make sure you at least cover your costs. I try to keep the shipping price as close to my cost (packing supplies and postage) as possible to discourage cart abandonment based on shipping charges. I use ShipStation and Stamps.com to get discount postage and labels that don’t show the postage.

There will be no fix as this is not a Woocommerce issue. This is a USPS API issue. They’re only sending out specific calls now and they’re all on Commercial Rates. Do as kcellis stated and figure out your COGs.

This First-Class Mail?: $3.00 is like a virus I can’t get stop from populating my cart. Does anyone have a new fix? I’ve tried setting it to commercial rates, weights based…even unchecked every USPS shipping option and it still gives my customers a $3.00 shipping charge.

@markander33 make sure you have checked every first class option though. From Parcel to First-Class Mail? Metered Letter. Make sure you go through and select each one until your $3.00 changes. Then you’ll know which options are coming in from USPS. Hope that makes sense.

@stefsternyc Thanks for the reply. I ended up fixing the problem by getting rid of the USPS Shipping plug in and going with the WP Services/Jet Pack option. Now it works fine ??

Plus it looks like I’ll be able to cancel my $25/month shipstation service….
