Why in the wordfence Options-“Firewall Rules” there is a special treatement only for Google and not also for other famous and trustable engines like Bing/Yahoo/Yandex/Baidu? I think it would be great to have a good eye to them, because importnat, especially bin/yahoo in Usa, yandex in Russia and Baidu in china.

  • Hi

As I am a recent hire (last 6 months) I don’t know what the decision making process was for that. I think the Baidu spider is not that way because most of the time that spider tends to hammer user’s sites and ignore robots.txt files. I’ve Seen similar behavior with Yandex, though not as frequently on my sites. You do have the ability to set rules for all crawlers in the firewall rules section (great info here about that:
https://docs.wordfence.com/en/Wordfence_options#Firewall_Rules ) which helps wityh the yandex/Baidu spider problems.

    Hope this helps.

    tim
