• I just updated the plugin and now the configure firewall message is showing all the time.

I did configure it and it is in learning mode it says, but the message is still there.

Also, I got 2 sites on 2 different hosts, one site made the user.ini file and the other didn’t.

Is the user.ini needed? If so how come the one site didn’t make the file?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Giorsoine,
whether the user.ini is needed or not depends on your server setup. When the Wordfence Web Application Firewall was activated you were given a preselected option of configuration settings. Do you recall if they were the same on the two different hosts?

We have a problem with some configurations on the web hosts SiteGround and Hostgator. If you are with either of them we recommend waiting for an updated version of WordFence which will hopefully be released within a week or so.

While waiting for this fix, the Application Firewall will still protect you against any code that runs after the WordFence plugin.

If you are referring to the choice with Apache ect. then it was the same on both.

I got the site with the problem at Unoeuro in Denmark.

But maybe same problem apply to them as with SiteGround and Hostgator, so will wait and see and if nothing changes after next update I will pop by again ??
