    Hi,
I currently get repeated failed attempts to logon from a set of IP-Addresses. I put all of them into the black list (using wild cards). Still, new failed logon attempts are registered for these IPs. Any idea?

    Hi,

Do you have one of the following features enabled in your site? They are located in WP Security -> Firewall -> Basic Firewall Rules -> WordPress XMLRPC & Pingback Vulnerability Protection .

    Completely Block Access To XMLRPC:
    Disable Pingback Functionality From XMLRPC:

If you don’t, can you enable one of them. Then carry out a test and report back with the outcome.

    Kind regards

Access To XMLRPC is completely blocked since yesterday.

Since our WordPress-Installation is located in a subdirectory, I manually edited the .htaccess of the root – which did not change anything… Maybe I need to talk to the hoster?

Hi, please do so and let me know what they say.

    Thank you
