    Hello WordFence,
I love your plugin and have used it for years now.
I’ve run into an issue with a website that is hosted on Network Solutions. I believe they use Openresty for their server type (checked via dev tools). I can’t get the Firewall configuration to work. I’ve tried the recommended setting, and manually editing PHP.ini. Does WordFence support Openresty? I tried the firewall settings for NGINX as it looks like Openresty is an offspring of that one.

The site says it is “enabled and protecting” but the notice to set up the firewall is still showing and they are only getting 35% protection under the firewall.

    Thanks!

Hi @createscape, thanks for getting in touch.

I have seen some Network Solutions Openresty configurations in the past fail due to an outdated version of MySQL but as you’re getting some level of protection I don’t necessarily think this is the case.

It could still be worth checking your Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page to see if there are any warnings, fail messages or recommendations there – notably under the “MySQL” and “PHP Environment” headings.

On the Wordfence > Scan page, do you see any yellow caution triangles, and what does the tooltip say when you mouse over the percentage bar on the Wordfence Dashboard you’re seeing 35% on? This will usually explain which features are missing that could bump it up to 100%, although please note that 64% on the dashboard and 55% on the WAF page is the maximum a free Wordfence site can reach as highlighted on: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/?utm_source=plugin&utm_medium=pluginUI&utm_campaign=docsIcon#firewall-status

If you find it easier to share screenshots for this, by all means use a service like Snipboard and paste the link(s) here for me.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hello Peter,
Thank you for the detailed response. Fortunately I was able to convince my client to switch to a better hosting plan instead (they had other issues too). I will remember the Diagnostics option next time I run into a problem.

    Crystal
