• My site did not like the new WP update…in the process of repairing things my host suggested I change my caching plugin over to W3 Total Cache.

I made the switch but am now getting a ton of complaints from users who come to my sites via Firefox. They are unable to see new content and stuck on an old page. It seems that sometimes refreshing a few times will fix the issue but then they’ll end up back on the old page if they come back later. The funny thing is that everyone is reporting that they are stuck on the same day (9/17 for one site and 9/13 for the other).

Even when I have them clear their FF cache, the error is still occurring? Any ideas?

  • This issue resolves itself when W3 Total Cache is disabled?

I am not sure…this is such a hard issue as I can’t re-create the issue. But I did just get this message from my tech folks. Trying to reach some users to see if that has resolved the issue

—> After further inspection we have determined that the caching issue was happening only on the non-www page, whereas everything was working just fine on https://www.site.com. This might be a bug in W3, and as a solution we have set up your web server to redirect all non-www requests to www, so that if someone visits https://site.com will be redirected to https://www.site.com. We believe that this solution has fixed your issue, but if you have any further reports please let us know (just make sure they thoroughly delete their cache before reporting to us).

Ok, thanks for the update. Please submit a bug report through the Support tab of the plugin if the issue returns.

The plugin is definitely not playing nice with the new version of WP. I had to disable it because I was having the same issue – I could only see new posts when logged into WP, and nobody else was seeing them. Had a client FREAK OUT because of it, hardcore. Made for a reeeeeeeally not fun phone call. :-/

@rhondagreene: Can you submit a bug report so we can investigate?

Exactly the same happens at my client’s site https://doba.sk

When you write into the url just doba.sk, usually it gets redirected to https://www.doba.sk, but sometimes it doesn’t (I don’t know why) and that’s when the issue occurs. It’s always stuck at the same date (I think it’s the date when we installed W3 Total Cache).

    Thanks for any help.

Thanks for reporting this issue, everyone. A fix will be in the upcoming release.

[I don’t have an ETA for you, sorry, but we want to get it to you all soon.]

Thanks a lot for your help @willie.
