    I just upgraded to v3.1 now TinyMCE Advanced Crashes the editor in Firefox causing a restart, So I installed wp-super edit it does the same thing deactivate it and everything is ok in default. Is there something about how these plugins access TinyMce In version 3.1 core build that might cause this? any thoughts

    What version of Firefox are you running? Does it work OK in Chrome or Safari?

    Is it better after you empty your browser cache? It may be using a mix of incompatible new and cached old files

    IIRC there is a weird error with SOME versions of FireFox and TinyMCE (it’s not WordPress per sey, just the TinyMCE version). Can you upgrade FF?

    Thanks Ipstenu

    You were right it is a error in FF I had to update to 4.0 beta
    I thought it was WP because the error was on all 3 of my computers
    updating FF fixed the error

    Ack – are you guys saying the new version of TinyMCE is incompatible with the most recent version of FF 3?

    I was having similar problems with the TinyMCE Clear plugin in FF and Safari, but only when trying to edit a specific page. I was getting an ‘Slow script’ error message in Safari and something similar in FF.

    I discovered there was heaps of extraneous HTML code in the content (about 150 empty lines with em and strong tags). Removing these seems to have made things easier on TinyMCE.

    Upgrading to FF 4 beta made no difference in my case.

    This one, Dunc?

    I’m trying to keep track of the trouble children…

    Zoonini – Kind of. FireFox and TinyMCE have always had issues. I KNOW 4.0 FF is fine with TinyMCE, but I THINK some of the 3.x branches are not. It’s not JUST WP having this issue too :/ Crashed some forum users I know elsewhere.

    Zooini,

    I am saying that after I updated My Wp from 3.0.5 Version to the new 3.1 version TinyMce was ok ran fine in default setup with the standard tool set, But after I installed TinyMce Advanced Plugin or Wp super Edit plugin which adds a whole bunch of extra tools to the tool bars when you tried to open a post or a page in visual mode it crashed FF every time an did a restart, but it ran ok in Internet explorer(the Junk Browser)! I have 3 computers in my home and I had the same results on all 3 machines.They all had the latest FF stable version 3.6.13 which has an error issue with TinyMce that makes it unstable. I have 98 Wp’s running and had the same results on other domains,so I assumed it was WP’s new version, but its a FF bug, so I updated to FF 4.0 beta and TinyMce is running normal now.

    I’m also having repeated crashes using WP 3.1 with the most recent non-beta release (3.6.13) of Firefox on OS X 10.6.6. I don’t have any TinyMCE plugins installed. Upgrading to FF 4 now will mean a bunch of browser add-ons I use don’t work. This is pretty annoying.

    @ipstenu Yes, that’s the one.
