Different parts of my WordPress admin area keep crashing, when I’m using Firefox 3.0.10.

-Doesn’t happen in Safari.
-Doesn’t always crash on the same page. Sometimes login, sometimes dashboard, sometimes edit, sometimes image upload.
-I tried a clean install of Firefox, still crashed. Tried safe mode after my clean install, still crashed.
-It hasn’t happened on any other sites, only WordPress and with two different blogs I have running (albeit on the same server).

Anyone have any ideas?

Yep disabling Gears in Firefox did it for me.

THANKS so much. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get it to work. I completely removed Gears and everything is fine.

FYI, Gears is also breaking functionality in Netflix queue management. Disabling it solved both my WordPress problem and the Netflix problem.

Did not work for me ??

I disabled Gears but the problem remains : FF 3 crashes when trying to insert an image in a new post.

Has anyone installed FireFox 3.5 which has been released a few hours ago and then enabled Gears to see if wordpress crashes again?

Gears is currently not compatible with FF3.5 – one must assume Google is working on a fix.

Though could this be a subversive move to cripple FireFox for a few days? I mean, what developer doesn’t have a fix ready for a new release of the second most popular browser in the world? It would be like shipping without Flash support.
