I use this plugin on a few sites, and it appears that Google Analytics doesn’t fire until after the first reload after consent is obtained. So a user accepts cookies, but the scripts don’t appear to fire until either they revisit the site or click through to another page. (This is based only on the cookies not being set until this point.)

I have tried setting GA to capture the scroll event too, so it can capture that once consent has been given, but couldn’t get this to work. I appreciate this might be more of an Analytics question, but the scripts not firing on first view (assuming consent) may falsely reducing stats.

I know there are more complex ways to capture information in GTM based on the exact consent given, but this plugin is great for its simplicity, and it would be good to know if it is possible to capture the ‘first visit’, or if a reload is required for Analytics to start to function?
