• Is there any way to determine what posts are presently missing their photos on my WP site? I migrated (myself) over to a new host, but the images were not visible in the media library, as it turns out that WP didn’t know they were there as they were not ‘uploaded’ in the media library the traditional way. I got all the images that were imported to be recognized in the media library by using “Add to server” plugin, but ended up with many duplicates and extras from the old site and was trying to clean it up and deleted a few images that are now ‘missing’ in older blog posts – including a signature file where I ‘sign’ my blog note. I have a new image file for that but of course the old blogs won’t recognize that because the upload link is not the same.

I could, I suppose, just reupload my ‘uploads’ folder, and go through the Add to Server process again, and then not delete things…but I was curious if there was any way to a) find out which posts are missing photos, and ‘point’ all references to a missing file in posts to a newly uploaded one?

A funny but working trick hits My head… backup and delete archive.php from theme and create a new archive.php and set ‘post per page as 100, use full post than excerpt.. then u can view 100 of your post in one page and find what pic are u missing. then edit via post editor.

Wow – quick responses from you both! I was editing the post while these came in. I will check both ideas out. Thank you very much. I’ll let you know how things go…

THANKS! The link from Jack Randall worked – although I have a few hundred broken links that I’ve found, I’m able to fix them over the next few days and have a cleaned up site. Many thanks to you both for your ideas.
