Finding Images on Site with ID

  • I would like to be able to find where an image was used in posts, pages and products knowing the image id. Short of searching through every post and page, is there a way to search for the image by id?
    For example, if my image id is 33535, can I search the site or data base and find all occurrences of that particular image?

    I am not sure where to put this question, so if I am in the wrong place, I apologize.

    Maybe you want to try the following:

    Go to WP Admin -> Media and click the magnifier icon to the right to search.

    Search only “xxx”, where xxx can be either the image id or the filename without extension, to see which files in the Media library surface.

    Thanks for the reply, but I guess I am not making my question clear. I want to find out WHERE the image is being used, not where it is in the media library. If the Id is 342, I would like to find out which posts, products or pages are using that image.

    No problem. I guess I didn’t extend my answer to be clearer.

    When the search results in the Media library yields thumbnail files, click on a thumbnail, and click Edit button above.

    In the edit box, you can see the URL and “file name” of the image.

    Once you’ve these two, it’s easy from that point, copy either one.

    Now go to “Posts” or “Pages” section in WP Admin, and click the magnifier icon at the top right, search either the URL and “file name”.

    The search results shall yield Posts or Pages with the image files embedded.

    Update — it doesn’t always work. I tried searching by ID and by file name, and sometimes it doesn’t find a post/page that has the image, and sometimes it identifies a post that does not have that image.
    I looked at the media cleaner plugin but it only displays the same 25 images although it claims there are 706 errors.

    I don’t want to break links but I need to get my storage down fast
