I have just noticed today that the “Finder” function which allows you to search for things such as other pages no longer works. It used to work fine and I haven’t used it for a little while but when I have tried to use it today it doesn’t display any results whatsoever.

    I have tried:

    1. Disabling all other plugins
    2. Changing to a default theme
    3. Enabling Safe Mode
    4. Rolling back to a number of different previous versions
    5. Rerunning the update script

None of the above made any difference and the search results fail to load.

Just before submitting this post I enabled the “Switch Editor Loader Method” located within the advanced settings menu and the “finder” works!!!

I have no idea why it now works with a different loader method but is it safe for me to keep this turned on? If not can anyone assist me in finding out why it has suddenly stopped working with this setting disabled?

    Many Thanks.

This seems to have sorted itself following the new update

This is marked Resolved but I just ran across this post because I was having exactly the same problem: no matter what I typed into Finder, there were no results. I did what sstaffie suggested and – lo and behold – it started working again.

Going through the same issue. Not working in any of my pages regardless of the plugins I may have installed. Is it an elementor issue or a problem with the new WordPress version? I updated that recently.

I’ve fixed it…! For some odd reason, when I toggled ‘Containers’ on in Settings>Experiments, the Finder started working back again? It was a strange fix, but nevertheless, give that a try.
