    Hi samsports,

Can you please provide me with your site URL? As it stands I do not have nearly enough information to provide any sort of assistance.

As Avada is a premium theme I cannot guarantee that I will be able to resolve the issue.

    Thanks,
    Cameron

    Jo Cameron,
ATM this page is not for public. But I can send you the link if you give me your mail or something private. Thanks!

Additionally, I found out that all links to facebook-userpages (same as “find us on facebook” button) have the same behaviour. On Google Chrome 45.0.2454.85 (instead of Firefox 39.0) the action is no blank area, but it happens nothing instead.

If you could send an email to [email protected] I’ll be happy to have a look for you.

    Thanks,

    Hi samsports,

Thank you for your email. The good news is that the problem doesn’t have anything to do with Avada or your site setup. The bad news is that is a problem on Facebook’s end, which means there’s nothing I can do as the page plugin is loaded in an iframe, which cannot be manipulated due to same-origin policy. You’ll notice the problem happens even of their own documentation page. It used to work fine so I can only assume that it has been broken as a result of changing posts to tabs.

Hopefully Facebook will fix the issue soon, and I’ll let you know as soon as I find out.

    Thanks,
    Cameron

Hmmm… strange. I tested a 2nd plugin called “Simple Facebook Page Plugin”, and nevertheless it works…

    Hi samsports,

I’ve had a look and compared the one that’s currently working on your site and another of mine and I’ve discovered the issue. It’s definitely because of the new tabs. If the tabs parameter is used instead of show posts it doesn’t add the code to open links in a new tab which is what is causing the issue. I’d say Facebook are aware of this because at the time I updated to 1.4.0, the show_posts parameter had been completely removed from their documentation but it’s back again now, although tabs is still what’s being used in the code generator.

The previous version of my plugin, 1.3.4, still uses the older show_posts parameter (1.4.0 converts the show_posts to tabs). You can download the previous version here and it should work for you.

Hopefully Facebook can fix up their implementation of tabs sooner rather than later.

    Thanks,
    Cameron

Just to follow up on this, Facebook have fixed their links up so they work properly now with the current API.
