• I wanted to add a map to a wordpress site with 1 red pin. I usually just add google’s embed code, but google is making that more and more difficult. Even if you manage to create the correct embed code, its only the beginning as you try to get it to zoom. So I tried a lot of plugins but I kept running into problems. Some of them were impossible to understand, others had ugly pins, or required a google API.

Anyway I finally gave up on plugins that had tens of thousands of downloads and tried a bunch or the others that had fewer downloads. More problems. One of them couldn’t even accept addresses, you had to know the coordinates. Finally I found the Google Map plugin and had no trouble making a simple map with a pin. I was able to add an address, easily adjust the zoom, and add a great looking pin. The interface is logical and easy to understand. Some of the functions are marked as paid but it was not annoying.
