    Hi,

Basically, we are trying to use the native filtering on product listing pages to help with filtering, which works fine however, if there’s a variant that is out of stock it will still show it in the filtering. I had turned on hide of out stock in the woo setting but the filtering still showing variants that have no stock if you use the colour red. I noticed when looking around this has been an issue for 5 years

First screenshot is showing both products even on the one with the red arrow has no red varients for sale https://prnt.sc/xXW7jzbBssg0

Second screenshot is showing me hiding out of stock from catalog https://prnt.sc/vNagB-D5x24l

and the final screenshot is showing how many stock in each variant for that product https://prnt.sc/kuPeDG9OSTwn

    Hi there @jonbarton ??

Welcome to WooCommerce Support. I’d be happy to help you with this.

I understand that out of stock variations are displayed at the site’s front end, upon filtering.

It appears, from the screenshot you are sharing, that the product inventory is not managed with the core WooCommerce functionality, rather with an API/plugin.

Feel free to reach out to its support channel, as they would be in a better position to assist you.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know.

    We’re happy to help.

    Hi,

The inventory is using WooCommerce not other api/plugin

    Hey @jonbarton ,

This is something I am able to replicate on my test site, as filtering displays out of stock variations when other attributes within that same product are in stock.

This is a known issue that has been reported on GitHub, which you can view here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/27935

I’d suggest subscribing to the GitHub thread to stay looped in on updates as they happen.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @beautyofcode,

Thank you for your reply. I know this has been an issue for over 5 years as I was looking around to see if people have a solution regarding hiding out of stock attributes as this is something I want to add as this is good filtering system but with it showing out of stock attributes its not good for me

    Kind regards

    Jon

    Hi @jonbarton

As a workaround, you might consider using a third-party plugin that provides advanced filtering options, including the ability to hide out-of-stock variants.

In the meantime, we recommend subscribing to this on GitHub to stay updated on the progress and any potential solutions.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask!
