Filtering by custom field date

    I have a custom field via CCTM, and I want to show future dates (from the meeting date field). I am unsure how to do that!

    So today is January 28, I would like to not show the dates before January 28. The custom field name is mdate.

    My current query:

    $args = array( 'post_type' => 'meeting_minutes', 'posts_per_page' => 5, 'order' => 'ASC')

    After poking around for hours, I found a solution:

    $today = date('m/d/Y');
						$args = array(
						'post_type' => 'meeting_minutes',
						'posts_per_page' => 3,
						'order' => 'ASC',
						'meta_query'   => array(

							'key'       => 'mdate',
							'value'     => $today,
							'compare'   => '>=',
						),
						'meta_key'               => 'mdate',
    					'orderby'                => 'meta_value',
						);
