    WP 5.72, Mediathek-Assistent 2.97

I have carried out the update from MA 2.95 to MA 2.97. If I now want to insert an image into a post, the selection of the file categories I created is no longer available. I can only filter for “pictures”, “audio”, “video” etc. But I would like to filter according to my own categories (logo, icon, etc.) because I have a lot of pictures. With version 2.95 the filter still worked. The search button under the filter field is only half displayed. The filter area is not high enough.

Thanks for your report and for the English translation. WordPress 5.8 changed the layout of the Media Manager Modal (popup) Window that may explain the cropping issue you have, even though you report using WP 5.7.2.

You can find a possible solution in this recent topic:

Conflicts with the Disable Gutenberg plugin

Please try installing the Development Version and let me know if it resolves the problem.

After you access the edit post/page screen, please do a complete, or hard refresh to make sure the new scripts are in place. Since I do not change the version number of a Development Version, your browser may cache the old, uncorrected script instead of downloading the update.

I will leave this topic unresolved until I hear back from you. If you have any problems or further questions regarding the suggested solution, post an update and I will give you additional guidance. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.

I deactivated and deleted the current version of the MLA, then downloaded, installed and activated the zip file from the article “PHP Warning on media upload”. But it is again v2.97 (20210819) in the description and in the settings.
When I unzip the zip file, the readme file also says Stable tag: 2.97. But I read point 8 in the description:

    8. Scroll down to “Media Library Assistant” and look for a date like “20170604” at the start of the Description. That’s how you know you have a Development Version. You can also go to the Settings/Media Library Assistant submenu and see the date stamp in the heading.

I deleted the cache several times. The filter problem when inserting pictures in existing posts (e.g. changing the post picture) still exists.

Thank you for taking the time to download and install the Development Version. Yes, the official version number and the stable tag both reference the current “official” version; the added date is how you know which Development Version you have. If I changed the version number, everyone would update prematurely.

I regret that the Development Version did not improve your experience. I will investigate further and post an update here when I have progress to report. Thanks for your understanding and your patience.

I have been unable to reproduce your issue on my system. Can you give me more details of the steps you follow to “insert an image into a post“? Are you using the Gutenberg “Image” block, or some other means, such as the Classic Editor? Can you give me the “Active Theme” and “Active Plugins” from the Site Health Screen Info tab? Are you using a page builder such as Elementor?

All of these factors have been helpful in other topics. Any additional details you can provide will be helpful. Thanks for your understanding and your patience.

I have restored the toolbar height adjustment logic from MLA 2.95 (for WordPress versions before 5.8) and uploaded a new MLA Development Version dated 20210909 that contains the fix. You can find step-by-step instructions for using the Development Version in this earlier topic:

PHP Warning on media upload with Polylang

Once the Development Version is installed you can verify that the toolbar display is handled properly.

The fix will be in my next MLA version. In the interim, it would be great if you could install the latest Development Version and let me know if it works for you. Thanks for your patience with this issue and for your interest in the plugin.

I have released MLA v2.98, which contains the fix for this issue. I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions regarding the issue or the fix. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention.
