    Hi,

I’ve noticed that my “Filter posts by category” buttons are now no longer showing on my homepage…I don’t know whether I’ve messed up some code somewhere in the child theme, so I tried loading the site from the main directory (version 1.3), but the buttons are still missing.

I’ve also tried upgrading to the new version of Sampression (1.3.2) so I have all the standard files without my modifications, but the buttons are still missing. Also cleared cookies and history, different browsers etc. but no luck.

Anyone any ideas? I really liked those buttons and want them back! Is there a setting in wordpress I’ve gone and changed without realising or something?

My blog is located at https://www.fromadaddy.com

    Many thanks in advance!

OK, I’ve completely reinstalled version 1.3, and also tried reinstalling version 1.3.2. Neither version gives me the buttons back…so is it a setting within the wordpress options I’ve been playing with and can’t find again?

Any help really appreciated…I’m really stuck!!!

    Hi tadpaul353,

You sure have messed up with HTML on header.php if not with JavaScript. Try switching to other themes like twenty twelve, deleting Sampression Lite theme and reinstalling fresh copy of Sampression. If that doesn’t help try disabling some plugins as they might interfere. But make sure you have a backup copy.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I switched to twenty eleven, deleted sampression lite, then redownloaded and installed Sampression Lite 1.3.2. Cleared cookies and history etc. from my browser, but the filter buttons are still missing ??

I’m using Joost’s SEO plugin which I’ve also disabled, but no filter buttons ??

Not sure if it helps…when I activated sampression 1.3.2 it opened on the theme options page where I can select my logo. The screen shows my log twice, even though on the webpage it appears correctly (once).

    Really hope you can help!!!

What happens if you delete theme files from your server manually (not from wp dashboard) and then download and activate sampression again?

You might also want to get rid of automatic widget on the bottom, by changing line 306 (themes/sampression-lite/includes/functions.php) from ‘bottom-widget-3’ to ‘bottom-widget-4’.

    Hi Borchy37,

Unfortunately that didn’t do the trick ??

But…I completely reinstalled wordpress, and whilst going through and fixing all the settings I found the problem…I’d set “Front Page Displays” to a static page (and not “Your latest posts”). In my case, this was an empty page which redirected to the root URL (basically a home button).

Feel pretty stupid…but also mighty pleased!!

Thanks for the suggestion for removing the bottom widget 3 – I’ll fix that tomorrow – it’s nearly midnight here and I’m knackered! Actually I don’t want to completely remove it – I do have something else I want to put in its place. Hopefully I can do that – I’ll see tomorrow!
