    Hello,
I am looking for a tool to help sync events from multiple face-book pages and list them on one calendar on a web-page. Is this possible?
Secondly, Is there a way to control and “filter” out of the type of events this is syncing from Facebook to the calander” For example, Say I am syncing information for “Rock Music Shows” from multiple facebook pages in one city. However, the event pages from facebook list other types of music shows as events, such as Country music, or rap, is there a way to automatically filter out that content so it syncs only rock shows from all the different pages?

  • Hi @3rdschulz,

All of our calendar products feature import feeds, including event feeds from Facebook.

    Core WordPress plugin calendar:

    Web App Calendar:

Generally, syncing events is done via an ICS file or ICS feed URL. We have adopted the iCal standard to sync events, as have Google, Apple, and Microsoft — in order to remain compatible as much as possible between different platforms and interfaces.

You are able to specify custom filters, such as a tag or category, for your imported events from a particular feed.

Regarding your request, at the moment, we are not able to import any filters on the source calendar (Facebook). We also are not able to filter out specific events within that imported feed.

What you could do, is import the events as a Draft, from that feed (this is part of our web app calendar feature only). Then go through your drafts after importing, and select which events you want displayed in your calendar, and Publish only those events. This way, those events will continue to sync with the Facebook import feed.

Thanks for the reply and the detailed information. What if I was able to get the venue’s and event promoters to tag there there events with something on facebook events, such as “#Punk”, Would it be possible to only pull events from the pages which include that tag for example? Or is it the same situation that you described above? Thanks again

    Hi @3rdschulz,

Technically, it would have to be done via the iCal protocol.

Meaning if they just add a hashtag like #punk, it won’t be exported. It must be part of the export process and must be labelled as a “Tag” — which Facebook doesn’t seem to support at the moment.

But even if that were possible, the calendar would import all events with source tags. So to make this work, you would simply display the filtered calendar (prefiltered with the tag “punk”, for example).
