Filter newsletters based on list not working?

I want to review a chain of autoresponder emails i have generated for a specific list. I find it difficult to sort through all the newsletter to find the specific autoresponders for a specific list. I try to filter on a specific list but it doesn’t just call up those specific autoresponder newsletters. when i pulldown list menu I see list names and a (number) – I assume this number means the number of newsletters assign to that list but when I filter on a list I get more than the (number). Any idea why? any idea how I can filter to find just the autoresponder chain newsletters for a specific list?
